The Mpumalanga Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs invites qualified candidates to apply for the post of Assistant Director: Strategy Development Research and Policy Planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and facilitate Municipal Integrated Development Plans (IDPs) Support municipalities with the implementation and reviews of IDPs.
  • Facilitate the integration of provincial and municipal strategies.
  • Monitor the report on the IDP review process.
  • Support municipalities with the development of legally compliant IDPs.
  • Facilitate the provincial and municipal programmes implementation Analysis & assessment of Plans.
  • Coordinate sector support for municipalities.


  • A Senior Certificate and a National Diploma in Public Management/ Administration and Development Studies/Development Planning or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Planning field.
  • Knowledge of relevant National and Provincial legislations is essential.
  • Computer literacy. A valid driver’s license.
