Requirements: A recognized B. Degree in Law or equivalent qualification. Masters in Law will be an added advantage. Five (5) years’ experience in the Local Government Sector of which 3 years should be at middle management. Valid driver’s license.
Knowledge and Skills: Ability to maintain high confidentiality with the political leadership of the municipality. Ability to produce reports and presentations of exceptionally high standards. Knowledge of the Local Government Sector and applicable legislation. Planning and organizing skills. Good analytical, interpersonal relations, and negotiation skills. Duties: Advise and support the Speaker of the council on administrative and strategic decisions. Remind councillors about all council activities. Assist and support Speaker in executing the legislative responsibilities and any other duties and powers. Manage public participation in the municipality. Provide administrative support to the council and councillors. Manage administrative support services to the council and its councillors/structures. Provide administrative support to MPAC.

Stakeholder involvement. Information management and reporting to other sector departments. Bid specification or Bid evaluation. Ensuring project compliance and policies applicable to MIG.

Position: Driver Operator x12

Requirements: Grade 7. Valid Code EC1/EC(14) with PDP driving license.3-4 years relevant experience. Must be physically fit and be able to work extra hours. Able to work under pressure. Six-day worker.
Duties: Deliver water to the community. Perform daily safety checks of fluid levels on oil, water, fuel and inspections for leaks and damage to vehicle before operation. Responsible for daily maintenance of vehicle to remain in proper and safe working order. Responsible for notifying supervisor if vehicle needs to be repaired. Insert pipe in refs led trenches and other excavations. The Driver/Operator must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely. Perform incidental work items and duties included within other crafts. The incumbent must be familiar with several wards falling within the Polokwane Municipality
NB: incumbents must attach proof of residence from ward councillor or authorised traditional leaders when applying for Driver/Operator post.
