JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Benchmarking with other retailers and e-commerce businesses to improve operations and reduce logistics cost
- Initiating new logistics projects within the Takealot logistics network to reduce labour cost and improve efficiency Reducing material
- handling & packaging cost through engineering projects within the DC
- Initiating continuous improvement projects within the Takealot logistics network
- Facilitate tenders for Supply Chain logistics packaging and material handling equipment
- Manage and execute logistics tenders with 3PL service providers on both the inbound and outbound logistics network
- Reducing and optimising the inter DC logistics network and hub network costs
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Solutions-oriented, can-do attitude; self-motivated; critical thinker
- Ability to work collaboratively with external stakeholders to develop logistics engineering solutions
- Comfortable with change and a strong team player
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
- At least 4 years’ experience within Supply Chain, Planning and Logistics Engineering field
- High level of proficiency with MS Office packages with proven advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- BEng degree, preferably Industrial or similar related degree
