The Independent Development Trust (IDT) invites qualified candidates to apply for the post of Supply Chain Management practitioner.

The IDT is a Schedule 2 Public Entity, established as a development management agency. Its primary role is to influence, support and add value to the national agenda. The IDT is mandated to measurably impact on the eradication of poverty and to improve the quality of life of poor, rural and marginalised communities. To assist us in achieving this, we wish to appoint dynamic individuals in the following positions:

  • Reporting : Manager: Supply Chain Management

Main purpose of the job : To administer and provide technical support in the Supply Chain Management function in order to ensure efficient acquisition of goods and services in support of the organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and ensure compliance with Acquisition Management;
  • Implement and ensure compliance with Acquisition Management;
  • Provide Tender Administration support services;
  • Ensure Enterprise and supplier development and General SCM Management

 Requirements :

  • Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Purchasing Management and/ or related fields.
  • A certificate of competence in an accredited SCM training programme from a credible institution will be added advantage.

Work Experience: Minimum of 6 years relevant work experience of which 3 years were in Procurement and Purchasing Management.

Competencies: Procurement Management; Tender Administration; Records Management; Monitoring and Appraisal; Costing and Financial Management; People Management; Sound Knowledge of the PFMA, Treasury SCM Regulations, CIDB regulations and Report Writing.

Skills: Conceptual Skills, Interpersonal Skills; Communication Skills; Problem Solving Skills; Analytical Skills; Information sharing and Negotiation skills.
