Rock Engineers need to have an understanding as well as knowledge of mining-induced seismicities such as mechanisms and mine layouts to support rockburst damage. To become a rock blaster, you will need to undergo a learnership programme-Mining Operations Underground Hard Rock (Conventional Mining) Level 2 and 3 or obtain a National Certificate: N2 Surface Mining and partake in a Learnership – NC: Surface Mining and Quarrying Level 3.
